Client Testimonials

Rachel was my doula for my first birth. I really wanted to have a natural delivery and Rachel was a tremendous help during the process. We met several times before the birth, and she encouraged me to create a birth plan, recommended I use a birthing ball and guided me along the way.  During labor she was by my side and a constant source of encouragement; holding my hand, massaging my shoulders and helping me relax and breathe.  I really appreciated her calm demeanor through the process. I couldn’t have done it without her!” -Debbie

“It was such an honor to have Rachel attend the birth of my third baby. My first two babies were water births which is what we naturally had planned for our third. From the beginning, I knew I wanted Rachel to be my doula. When I developed complications and my labor had to be induced a month early in hospital, I was so relieved to have her with me through the experience. Whether you are planning a natural birth at home or in a hospital or develop complications, her calm and encouraging presence makes a world of difference. I truly believe her support helped me keep my nerves in check and have the birth experience I wanted despite the unplanned change in environment! I highly recommend including her in your birth plans and special day. She is great!”  -Maayan

A Grandmother’s Perspective
“My experience with Rachel the Doula was in the proud role of a first time grandma to be. Watching how she listened and supported my daughter, it was such a good feeling. She knew  that my daughter wanted to have a natural birth and she did everything she could to help that happen. My daughter was in good hands. I felt it from the beginning as they met ahead of time to prepare for the birth of my grandson. Even when labor stalled, Rachel did not leave us. She kept talking with my daughter, giving her support.  I learned a lot from her, as well. I learned patience, new ways to help someone in labor, and how to talk with the nurses. We were blessed to have her there with us. -Rivkah
I can’t explain how helpful and supportive it has been to have Rachel Yaghobian in the delivery room. For a first time mom, with family abroad and a different culture, she has been an excellent bridge and support in the hospital setting.  I had an amazing experience with Rachel. Before the birth she prepared and educated me for several months ahead. I learned so many valuable skills like movements, exercises, breathing, and pushing techniques.  I really wanted to have a natural delivery without an epidural. I had my baby at 41 weeks and despite my hopes needed to be induced. This made the whole experience longer and more stressful.  Thank goodness Rachel was there at the moments my energy and determination were wavering, and with her there, my wish came true. An epidural  free first birth. Although my husband was with us too, no one can be as helpful as someone who has been through it personally and helped so many others.  Both me and my husband are extremely grateful to Rachel and hiring her as my doula was the best choice we have made.  I highly recommend both her personal childbirth education classes, as well as her  doula service for every couple, especially first time parents. Many people offer different types of services but none compare to the one who does so with passion and love for their trade.  This is something that I clearly remember from my wonderful experience with Rachel the Doula.  She loves what she does and she makes a most remarkable doula. I still remember how beautifully and passionately she explained to me the actual birth process and I am still looking this miracle of life every moment that I look a my baby boy. -The Beneliezer Family

Rachel was my doula for 5 births. I think I might be her best customer 🙂
Rachel is very nurturing, warm and compassionate. She was there with me every step of the way enabling me to have a natural birth – every single one of those times. She knows the delicate balance of fully being there for you, yet supporting you with the decisions you make. She was very reassuring with lots of positive encouragement. My birth experiences would have all been totally different, and I probably would have ended up with an epidural if I didn’t have her with me. My last birth was 15 hours long and through the night and Rachel was amazing every step of the way. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. She is worth every penny and more! In my community with many young moms and budding families, she has become a well-known doula, to which many turn to for counsel, support and service. -Abby

Rachel the Doula was there every step of the process, making sure I knew what to expect before “the big day”, during and after delivery, and ensuring that I had the birth experience I had wanted. What I had wanted was a first time VBAC, and it’s clear to me now that the best way to achieve that goal is to have an experienced doula like Rachel at my side.  When labor ran long, she stayed with me the entire time, working with the doctors and nurses to make me comfortable and bring about a successful VBAC delivery after 3 hours of pushing! I am forever grateful to her for all that she did for me and my baby. If you need someone to advocate for you and be in your corner and believe in you and your abilities, Rachel is the right doula for you. You will not be disappointed, on the contrary, you will walk away feeling it was one of the wisest investments you have ever made. -Rachel

Rachel was my doula for my 3rd birth. My 2nd birth ended up being a c-section and I really wanted my 3rd birth to be a natural VBAC. Rachel met with me a few times before the birth and coached me about what information and questions I should ask the doctor, what exercises I should do, and she even helped me create a birth plan to give the doctor and hospital staff. More than anything, Rachel was encouraging and understanding as she patiently guided me through the whole process. When the time came, my water broke without contractions progressing. Rachel was the calming person who navigated the hospital with us, ensuring that we understood everything that was going on and that the doctor and nurses were on the same page as us. Throughout my 35-hour labor, Rachel was either checking in with me by phone or there in person, trying different techniques to help me through it all. My husband and I can honestly say that without Rachel there, my birth would not have been the same. Thank you, Rachel, for guiding us on this amazing journey and making my natural VBAC dream a true reality. -Avital
